Data questions
When will I get the first data?
You’ll have your first data within 24 hours and it will be uploaded once per day. We need some time to process the data.
What will I see?
Apart from the keywords you will see all metrics that you’re used to from Google Analytics, such as bounce rate, session duration, etc. and all transactional data, such as conversions, revenue, etc., which you can correlate with the keywords. Also, Keyword Hero adds new and great dimensions.
Why is there a difference in the data?
In case you are using Keyword Hero data in Google Analytics: there is a latency of three days, so it’s three days behind, make sure to take that into account.
Why do I not get today's data?
We can only process fully completed days. This means we need to wait until all 24 hours of a day have passed in your timezone and Google Analytics has fully processed the data, which can take an additional 24 hours after midnight. Only then can we guarantee that all the data required for processing is completely available from Google Analytics.
Why is there a difference in users?
Keyword Hero doesn’t transmit any cookie information, so GA thinks that each session is a new user. So please compare sessions and not users!
Why don't I see any data at all?
It may be you are trying to navigate to the keyword data from Google Analytics itself. While the data is in Google Analytics, you will need to login to our application and click on your project.
On the dashboard, you will see the button “View in Google Analytics” at the bottom left corner. Clicking here will lead you to go to Google Analytics with the correct settings so it loads your keywords. When you accessed your data this way, you will also be able to create a report so you do not have to login on our website anymore, here is an article about that.
Can I get data from the past?
Yes, you can load your historical data, depending on your plan (check here for plan specifications). Please note that we can only load data if it is available.
How can I load my historical data?
Click the gear icon on the project overview page:
Click the “Keywords” link on top:
And you will be able to load your historical keyword data.
Please note you need a paid plan in order to access your historical data. A Big Hero gives you up to 1 month of history, a Giant Hero gives you up to 6 months and an Ultimate Hero gives you up to 16 months. You see will see how many days were loaded, this may be less than the plan limits if there isn’t any data available for that date range.
Is my historical data loaded automatically?
No, even if you upgraded, you still need to go to the settings page, then to the Keywords tab and initiate the historical data load.
When will the historical data be available?
After initiating the historical data load, the loading time depends on the amount of data available. If the loading bar is stuck or more than 48 hours have passed, reach out to us at support@keyword-hero.com.
Can I access search intent data?
Yes, search intent data is available exclusively in the Keyword Hero dashboard through our website. It is included in all reports. It is a dimension visible in one of the columns in the report including C (commercial), I (informational), N (navigational) and T (transactional).
Can I see search intent data in Google Analytics?
No, search intent data unfortunately isn’t visible in the Keyword Hero property in Google Analytics. You will find it exclusively in the Keyword Hero dashboard on our website.

How do I export my data?
You can easily export your data by opening your project from the dashboard.
Below the graph, you’ll find the Export button on the right side of the screen.
Where do I see the keywords?
The keywords are in the overview of our application. To get there, log into your Keyword Hero account (click here) and click anywhere in the bar for your project while hovering over it.
What attribution model does Keyword Hero use?
Keyword Hero uses the last non-direct click attribution model. This is also the default attribution model used by Google for Universal Analytics (GA3).
What can I do to improve the match rate?
There are a couple of things you can do to help Keyword Hero match your data better:
- Make sure that both HTTP and HTTPS properties of the Search Console are in the Search Console account that Keyword Hero has access to and select them in step 3 of the set-up.
This didn't improve my match rate so much?
The match rate will significantly improve over time as we use historic data to train our algorithm. If after four weeks, you’re still below 70% mapped keywords, please reach out to us.
What do all these new keywords mean?
Keyword Hero classifies the keywords that our technology cannot match:
- (not provided)_bing = unresolved traffic from Bing.
- (not provided)_yahoo = unresolved traffic from Yahoo.
- (automatic matching) = AdWords information.
- (not provided)_subdomain_add_searchconsole = This is traffic to a subdomain.
- (not provided) = this is traffic that’s still unmatched for keywords. Keyword Hero retrieves 93% of the keywords on average, so everything that’s still unmatched will be still (not provided)
- (not set) = for this, there’s likely a configuration error which was already there before processing the keywords. To resolve these, dig into your website configuration, we cannot help with it.
Why do I not see any key events in my Keyword Hero property?
Key event tracking is only available in paid plans. If you have a paid plan and you still see no key events, make sure that you have selected the correct key event at step 2 of the setup.
Can I analyze more than one key event in the same Keyword Hero project?
Yes, key event tracking is available with the Big Hero plan, which allows the tracking of 1 key event. Then, the Giant Hero plan covers 3 and finally the Ultimate Hero will cover 5 key events for you.
I have edit permissions but still can't create a new property?
In 100% of the cases, you have edit permissions on property level, not on account level. However, to create a new property, you need account level permissions.

Here is a step-by-step tutorial talking about you best set up Keyword Hero.
GA tells me that there is a tracking code mismatch?
Don’t worry. GA can’t find the Analytics.js on your website and shows this warning. You don’t have to do anything and it will disappear within a couple of days.
I stopped getting data?
Go to your profile, click on the gear icon next to the domain and click Configure. Now just follow the setup funnel once more. If you still won’t get data in the next days, reach out to us at support@keyword-hero.com.
